Ronald McDonald House Community Service Project
NACE Houston November 25, 2014 4:30PM-8:30PM Call for volunteers: We are in need of volunteers for our annual project with the Ronald McDonald House.
We welcome shifts or you can stay the whole time. Ronald McDonald House Houston offers loving, home-like environments, where families can find support and share experiences with others while on their journey to overcome a critical childhood illness. What makes someone feel more at home than walking through the front door, greeted by the smell of a home-cooked meal? After a day at the hospital, sitting down to a meal and relaxing with your family is most welcoming. By providing meals for these families, we truly make Ronald McDonald House Houston a home away from home.
This is an annual community service project for NACE Houston. We provide dinner and entertainment for the house and crafts for the children. We are expecting to serve 75 people this year. Ronnie Hallenberger with Adair Family Restaurant will donate an enchilada dinner that we will serve. If you would like to volunteer you can come out for the whole evening of sign up for a shift.

Community Service Committee has a Challenge for YOU!
We are challenging our members to pick up one of our backpacks at the July 9, 2014 NACE Monthly meeting and bring it back to work with you. The committee will pick these backpacks back up from you at the August NACE Monthly Meeting (hopefully full of cash).
WHO CAN COLLECT THE MOST IN ONE MONTH??
Use your backpack to collect money at your place of work for our Back to School Community Service Project. Bring it back or we can pick it up for the August NACE Monthly Meeting. All monies collected will go towards purchasing school supplies for the children at the Pilgrim Elementary School.
For the months left open we can pick up community service projects as needed. If we see someone; or, an organization in need we can set up an effort to help. Please help with NACE Houston May Community Service Project in donating to: Elizabeth “Liz” Hold Reyna Scholarship Endowment
Liz loved her time at the Conrad N. Hilton College, University of Houston. There, she earned her degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, allowing her to pursue her passion for the hospitality industry. To honor and celebrate Liz’s life her friends and family established the Elizabeth Hold Reyna Scholarship Endowment.
Our beloved friend and colleague who tragically passed away last year has left an amazing legacy that she would be proud of. Her family and late husband started a scholarship in her name which we participated in last July.
The Elizabeth "Liz" Hold Reyna Scholarship last year received gifts and commitments totaling $26,750. This is eligible for dollar-for-dollar matching from the Hilton Foundation, which doubles the amount raised to $53,500! Through friends and family, the scholarship became an official endowment and will be rewarded in perpetuity to Conrad N. Hilton College students for years to come.
Delayne Hoffman was the recipient of the first scholarship awarded in Liz's name.
NACE Houston would like to participate again this year to enrich someone's education in Liz's name by donating to her scholarship endowment.

Thank you to all NACE Houston members who volunteered with us at the Houston Food Bank at their Kitchen location on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 12:00 PM - 04:00 PM.
Our volunteer shift directly fed hungry neighbors! Volunteers helped with a cutting up 550 pounds of vegetables. This equals 458 meals!
This is an annual volunteer program for NACE Houston if you would like to be involved in this or any of our future Community Service Programs please contact:
